Method
- Soak amchoor or tamarind in 250 ml. water, for 30 minutes.
- Boil it with the same water,till mushy.
- Cool a little, strain, keep aside as a thick paste.
- Boil dates in 200 ml. water, till most of it evaporates.
- Add jaggery, stir, take off fire.
- Add prepared paste, and all other ingredients.
- Mix well, adjust sweet, or other flavours as required.
- Cool completely, before storing in airtight container.
- Refrigerate, and use as a relish or chutney.
Making time: 30 minutes
Makes: 500 gms. chutney, approx.
Shelflife: 2 months, refrigerated
Ingredients: 100 gms - deseeded soft dates, chopped
100 gms - tamarind or amchoor (dried mango pieces)
250 gms - jaggery, grated or crushed
1 tbsp - musk melon seeds skinned
1 tsp - cumin powder
1 tsp - chilli powder
1/2 tsp - crushed mustard seeds
1/2 tsp - black salt
2 to 3 flakes - garlic crushed(optional)
salt to taste
