Shortcrust pastry
Method
- Put the flour in the processor bowl, add the salt and butter, cut into pieces.
- Mix for 10 seconds on speed 4 with the plastic blade, then pour in the water through the feeder tube as you knead.
- Knead for 10 seconds on speed 8 to form a ball of pastry.
- Leave the pastry to stand for 30 mins. in a cool place.
- You can cook the pastry on its own if you wish.
- Either prick the base and pinch down the edges with a fork or place a circle of greaseproof paper weighed down with dry beans to stop it from rising too much.
- You can add a spoonful of sugar when preparing a dessert.
