Method
- Divide the ingredients into 4-5 equal parts before you start (depending on the number of colours you want to make; I made yellow, pink, blue, green, red, orange (mixing red & yellow) and purple (mixing red & blue).
- Do this, separately for each colour (if you try to separate & colour each batch later, melting and cooling over and over will make the treats hard.)
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows and continue to stir until the marshmallows have completely melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in the rice crispies coating them well with the melted marshmallow mixture.
- With buttered hands, make golf size balls & cool to room temp before serving.
- If you want squares or diamond shaped treats, using buttered hands (or buttered spatula) press the mixture evenly into a 15 x 10 x 2 inch pan, ensuring its been sprayed/greased or lined with butter paper.
- Cut into squares or diamonds when the mixture cools.

1/4 cup - butter
1 (10 oz., about 40) packet - regular marshmallows or 3 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups - rice crispies cereal
