Crisp marshmallow treat

Method
  1. Divide the ingredients into 4-5 equal parts before you start (depending on the number of colours you want to make; I made yellow, pink, blue, green, red, orange (mixing red & yellow) and purple (mixing red & blue).
  2. Do this, separately for each colour (if you try to separate & colour each batch later, melting and cooling over and over will make the treats hard.)
  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  4. Add the marshmallows and continue to stir until the marshmallows have completely melted.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in the rice crispies coating them well with the melted marshmallow mixture.
  7. With buttered hands, make golf size balls & cool to room temp before serving.
  8. If you want squares or diamond shaped treats, using buttered hands (or buttered spatula) press the mixture evenly into a 15 x 10 x 2 inch pan, ensuring its been sprayed/greased or lined with butter paper.
  9. Cut into squares or diamonds when the mixture cools.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup - butter
1 (10 oz., about 40) packet - regular marshmallows or 3 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups - rice crispies cereal
