Channa Dal & Coconut Curry

Method
  1. Heat oil, add jeera & curry patta leaves.
  2. Fry for few seconds, then add green chilli, onion pieces.
  3. Fry till onion becomes light brown.
  4. Add ginger, garlic & haldi, fry for 1min.
  5. Add boiled channa dal (soft but not mashed), 30 ml of water, let it simmer for 3 min.
  6. Add finely grated coconut, red chilli powder and salt.
  7. Cover and let it cook for 3min or till minimum moisture remains.
  8. After the coconut & channa dal are cooked well, check salt and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Then serve hot.
Ingredients:
50 g - channa dal (soaked for 2hrs & boiled)
1 - onion, medium, chopped fine
1 - finely grated medium coconut
1/2 tsp - chopped ginger
3 - garlic cloves, chopped fine
1 tsp - red chilli powder
1/4 tsp - jeera
3 - green chillies, chopped fine
1 tbsp - oil
8 - curry patta leaves
a pinch - haldi
