Method
  1. Cook dal till done. Add 4-5 cups of water
  2. Add salt, turmeric powder, curry leaves, garam masala and salt to taste
  3. Knead flour, add salt, turmeric powder, ajwain. Knead into soft dough
  4. Divide the vegetable mixture into equal quantities to fill in the potlis
  5. Make small balls, and roll out 2 inch puris
  6. Put the vegetable filling in the puris and give it the shape of potlis.
  7. When the dal starts boiling add the potlis
  8. Cook till the potlis start floating to the top
  9. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, Red chilies and asafetida.
  10. Pour over the dal and mix well
  11. Add jaggery, lemon juice, tomato and grated coconut and cook for 2 minutes
  12. Garnish with freshly grated coconut and chopped coriander.
  13. Serve hot with boiled rice and roasted pappad.

2 cups - wheat flour
1 cup - arhar dal
1 cup - mix vegetables(carrot, paneer, cabbage, sprouts)
10 to 12 - curry leaves
1 - tomato
1 - green chillies
2 tsp - oil
1 tsp - garam masala
1 tsp - chilli powder
1 tsp - ajwain
1 tsp - turmeric powder
1 tsp - mustard seeds
2 - dry red chilli
1 tbsp - freshly grated coconut
a pinch - asafoetida
1/2 tsp - lemon juice
salt to taste
