Method
- Soak toor dal in water for 1/2 hour.
- Grind the wet toor dal along with green chillies, ginger, garlic, dhania, saunf, jeera and salt to a coarse paste.
- Mix cut onions and turmeric powder with the ground paste and steam the mixture on greased idly plates in cooker for about 10 minutes.
- Cool to room temperature.
- Crumble the mixture to uniform consistency.
- Heat oil in frying pan.
- Add mustard, urad dal and curry leaves for seasoning.
- Fry the dal mixture along with the seasoning in low heat till the mixture is dry and light brown.
- Keep stirring to ensure uniform frying.
- Serve hot.
