Groundnut Chutney

Method
  1. Dry fry groundnuts, remove husk & keep aside.
  2. Dry fry green chilli (prick them with needle before frying)
  3. Grind the ingredients (except the tempering ones) to a fine paste
  4. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, red chilli pieces, urad dal & curry leaves
  5. Fry till the seeds splutter, pour the tempering over the chutney mix well
  6. Serve with dosa, pongal, idli or upma.

Variation:

  • After grinding the ingredients, just before removing from the mixer, add chopped onions and run mixer for a second and remove.
  • You will definetely love the crunchy taste of raw onions
  • While tempering, you can add a few tomato pieces, fry till soft & add to ground chutney.
Ingredients:
200g - groundnuts
8 - green chillies
1/4tsp - cummin
Salt
1/2 tsp - tamarind paste
6 - garlic cloves

For tempering
1tsp - oil
1 - red chilli
1/4tsp - mustard seeds
1/2tsp - urad dal
10 - curry leaves
