Moong dal chilla with garlic chutney

Method
  1. Soak dal in water for 8 hours.
  2. Strain, grind to a paste.
  3. Mix with soda bicarb, chopped chillies, chilli powder, cummin seeds, asafoetida and turmeric and salt.
  4. Grease a tava with oil.
  5. Pour a spoonful of the batter and spread it like a dosa. Put ghee around and fry on both sides.
  6. Serve with garlic chutney.
Ingredients:
3 cups moong dal
3 green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp soda bicarb
1 tsp cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
Oil as needed

For the garlic chutney, grind to a fine paste:
15 cloves of garlic
4 green chillies
2 red chillies
1 tsp salt
A small ball of tamarind
