Aloo-Pulses Kichdi

Method
  1. Wash rice and all the pulses and keep aside.

  2. Wash and peel the skin of potatoes. Cut it into medium sized cubes.

  3. Cut the onions into medium size.

  4. Slit the green chillies (you can do this dish directly in the cooker, or pressure pan, or an electric cooker)

  5. Put oil into the cooker, and add cummin seeds, green chillies, cloves garlic, cardamom, cinnamon and turmeric until the aroma fills the air.

  6. Now add onions and saute them till they change to a pale brown color, now add the potatoes and saute them for 2 mts.

  7. Add the rice and the pulses along with 4 1/2 cups water, finally add salt as per your taste and pressure cook.

  8. Serve hot with mango pickle or raitha of your choice. This is a high protein dish.
