Curd Rice

Method
  1. Keep rice in pressure cooker. One cup of rice requires 6 cups of water.
  2. Rice should be mashed after cooking.
  3. Mix curd, milk and butter and keep ready in one bowl.
  4. Add required amount of salt.
  5. Heat oil in a pan/kadai, splutter mustard, black gram dal, bengal gram dal, curry leaves, add asafoetida, ginger, green chillies and fry them well.
  6. Mix all the contents to the curd mix, add these to the smashed rice.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Tasty curd rice is ready to serve
  9. It requires hardly 20 minutes to cook.

1 cup - raw rice
2 cups - curd/yoghurt
1 cup - milk
1 tsp - butter
3 - green chillies
1 tbsp - black gram dal
1 tbsp - bengal gram dal
curry leaves, small quantity
coriander leaves, small quantity
ginger, small quantity
mustard, small quantity
asafoetida, a pinch
salt to taste
oil for frying
