Pidi Kozhukattai

Method
  1. Soak the rice in water for 30 mins; drain and grind to a fine powder.
  2. Heat the pan and fry the rice flour till it becomes red in colour and keep aside.
  3. Dry fry the moong dal in a pan till a good aroma arises.
  4. Add water to the dal and cook for 5 mins.
  5. After 5 mins, add 2 cups of water and the grated jaggery and stir till jaggery dissolves in water.
  6. Now add the roasted rice flour and mix evenly.
  7. At last add cardamom powder, grated cocunut and mix well.
  8. Allow the mixture to cool and then shape as seen in the picture.
  9. Steam cook the kozhukattai in an idli cooker for 5 mins.
  10. Mouth-watering Pidi Kozhukattai is ready for neivedhyam.
