Besan Rava Panjiri

Method
  1. Heat ghee in a kadai add rava, stir it till it is roasted.
  2. Add besan and roast it.
  3. Stir the mixture continuously on low flame.
  4. In a seperate utensil, heat 1 tsp of ghee.
  5. Fry gond in the ghee and crush it; add it to the dry fruit mix.
  6. Add this mix to rava besan mixture.
  7. In a saucepan take 1&1/2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar.
  8. Boil till you get 1 tar chashni (1-string thread).
  9. Add the above mix in the sugar solution and stir continuously.
  10. Remove to a plate and garnish with cardamom powder and dry fruit.
  11. Allow to cool and cut into diamond shapes.
  12. This is ready for the auspicious occassion of ganesh chaturthi
Ingredients:
1/2 cup - rava
1 cup - besan
2 cup - sugar
1/2 cup - dry fruits like almonds,cashewnuts (crushed)
1 tbsp - ghee
1 tbsp - gond (gum)
1 tsp - cardamom powder
A few slivers of almond for garnishing
