Colourful Dal

  1. Grind ginger and green chillies to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard and cumin.
  3. Then add onion, the ground paste and stir well under golden brown.
  4. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Finally add the remaining vegetables and moong dal with 3 cups of water and salt.
  6. Cook until done.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with chappatis or naan.
1 cup moong dal
3 cup water
1 tsp mustard seed
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp chopped ginger
3 green chillies
2 tbsp oil
1 onion
2 tbsp chopped carrot
2 tbsp green peas
1/2 cup cabbage
corainder leaves
Salt to taste
