Cabbage and Capsicum Poriyal

Method
  1. Heat the oil in a kadai. Add mustard and fennel.
  2. When they splutter, add onion and fry till light brown.
  3. Add all the capsicums, fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage, chili and turmeric powders and salt. Mix well.
  5. Cover and leave on low heat till the vegetables are cooked .(Do not add water. Cabbage will give out enough liquid)
  6. Add grated coconut. Mix well and remove from heat.
  7. Serve as a side dish with rice/chapathi and dal.

Ingredients:
2 cup - cabbage, shredded
½ cup - onion, thinly sliced
½ cup - green capsicum, cut into thin strips (discard seeds)
½ cup - red capsicum, cut into thin strips(discard seeds)
½ cup - yellow capsicum, cut into thin strips(discard seeds)
½ cup - grated coconut
1 tsp - mustard seeds
1 tsp - fennel (saunf)
1 tsp - chili powder
½ tsp - turmeric powder
salt to taste
2 tbsp - oil
