Chayote or chow chow poricha kolambu

Method
  1. Grind coconut, cashew nuts and rice flour smoothly and keep it aside.
  2. Now cook tur dal and chow chow in the pressure pan.
  3. Add the ground mixture, salt and turmeric powder to it.
  4. Now season with urad dal and red chillies.
  5. Finally, add enough water and let it boil for a while.
  6. Keep stirring when it boils.
  7. Tastes great with hot steamed rice and mango pickle.

Ingredients:
1 - chow chow
3 tbsp - tur dal
10 pods - garlic
2 tbsp - coconut (scrapped)
5 - cashew nuts
2 tsp - rice flour
2 - red chillies
1 tsp - urad dal
Turmeric powder, a pinch
Asafoetida, a pinch
Salt to taste
