Method
- Place the chopped potatoes in cold and bring it a boil - about 10min. Reduce heat and simmer for another 10min until soft.Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile remove the outer skin of the garlic and place in a little water and M/w for 5min until soft.
- Grind the softened garlic along with some buttermilk.
- Mix the butter with the milk until dissolved completely.
- Now add both milk and garlic-buttermilk to the potatoes and mash them.
- Season to taste. Mash them into creamy consistancy or with lumps.
- Garnish with chives and ta-da - you get a festive dish.
