Palak Bhajiya/Spinach Fritters

Method
  1. Wash the spinach leaves and set aside.
  2. Mix the chickpea flour, rice flour, salt, carom seeds, red chilli powder and cooking soda in a bowl.
  3. Add enough water to make a batter of medium consistency and set aside.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying.
  5. Dip each spinach leaf in the batter and deep fry till golden brown in colour on both sides.
  6. Remove from oil and serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney.

Ingredients:
25-30 - palakura/spinach leaves
1 cup - chickpea flour/besan
1/4 cup - rice flour
1/2 tsp - ajwain/carom seeds
1.5 tsp or to taste - red chilli powder
Salt to taste
A pinch of cooking soda
Oil for deep frying
