Stuffed Idly

Method
  1. Soak the rice and dal separately for about 6 hours.
  2. Drain out the water nicely, grind them separately and mix them together.
  3. Cover and set rise in hot place for 3 hours.
  4. Mix in salt and soda. Melt the sugar over a slow fire till red.
  5. Mix in the rest of the filling ingredients and keep aside.
  6. Grease katories nicely, spread coconut mixture on top and cover more and steam.
Ingredients:
1 cup - rice
1 cup - urad dal
a pinch of cooking soda
1 big pinch of salt

For stuffing:
1 cup - sugar
1/2 - small finely grated coconut
25 - each of finely sliced cashewnut, almonds and raisins
1 tsp - cardamom powder
1/4 tsp - grated nutmeg
