Sowthekai Hasi Gojju/Raw Cucumber in Coconut Gravy

Method
  1. Gring together - coconut, jeera, green chillies, cilantro and hing to form a smooth paste.
  2. Note:
    Adjust the green chillies according to you spice level.
  3. Add the masala paste to the chopped cucumber;
  4. Add curds, salt and mix well.
  5. Add water to get the desired consistency.
  6. Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves;
  7. Serve with hot rice and enjoi!

Variation:

  • You could even add some tamarind (according to your taste) instead of curds.
  • This makes it more tangy and spicy.

  • Ingredients:
    1/2 - cucumber, peeled and chopped finely
    2 to 3 tbsp - grated coconut, fresh/frozen
    2 to 3 tsp - jeera/cumin seeds
    2 to 3 - green chillies
    2 to 3 strands - cilantro
    3 to 4 tbsp - curds
    1 strand - curry leaves
    1 tsp - oil
    1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
    a pinch - hing
    salt as per taste
