Black Eyed Peas (Lobhia) Pancake

Method
  1. Soak Lobhia for over 16 hours (change the water once in between).
  2. We have cool temp here so I soak it this long, if you live in a warmer place , then 12 hours should be fine.
  3. Next day, wash & drain the Lobhia and remove all the skin (if you rub it with your hands the skin should come off).
  4. Now grind into paste - Lobhia, onion, cilantro, redchilly, zeera, garlic & ginger.
  5. Add enough water to make it like a pancake / dosa batter.
  6. Now add the redchilly powder, turmeric powder, hing and salt. Mix well.
  7. You can make the pancakes right away or even keep it over night and use it for the following day.
  8. Make sure you drop a 1 tsp of oil and then make the pancake else it gets a little untidy even if it's a nonstick dish.
  9. Enjoy this dosa/pancake for breakfast/lunch/dinner with green chutney or pickle...
Ingredients:
black eyed peas (lobhia) - 1 cup (soaked for over 16 hours)
onion - i small or 1/2 lagre onion, chopped
garlic - 2 pods , crushed
ginger - 1" piece, crushed
dry red chilly - 3 or 4 (depends on how hot you like it)
zeera - 1 tbsp
turmeric powder - 1 tsp
redchilly powder - 1 tsp
hing (asafoetida) - 1/2 tsp (alter it to your taste)
cilantro /coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
