Green Peas Puri

Method
  1. Pressure cook the peas with little salt in water till soft.
  2. Drain out the water if any.
  3. Mash the peas completely when still hot.
  4. Add red chilly powder, coriander cumin seed powder, mango powder and turmeric powder.
  5. Mix well and keep aside.
  6. To the wheat flour add 2 tbsp oil, cumin seeds and salt to taste.
  7. Add sufficient water and make semi-soft dough as you make for puris.
  8. Cover the dough and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  9. Divide the dough into equal pedas.
  10. Grease your palms with a little oil and smoothen each peda well.
  11. Roll a peda into a small puri.
  12. Place a tbsp of the green pea mixture in the center of the puri.
  13. Gather the ends of the puri and smoothen it once again into a round peda.
  14. Dip the stuffed peda into dry wheat flour and roll it out gently once again into a small puri.
  15. Repeat the same with the other pedas.
  16. Heat the oil for deep frying the puris.
  17. When the oil reaches a smoking point slip a puri gently into the oil.
  18. Gently turn sides.
  19. Fry till the puris are golden.
  20. Serve hot with any sabji or have it with any pickle preferably sweet mango pickle.
Ingredients:
300 gms - wheat flour
2 cups - green peas (shelled)
2 tsp - red chilly powder
1 tsp - coriander cumin seed powder
� tsp - turmeric powder
� tsp - mango powder
2 tbsp - oil
1 tsp - cumin seeds
sufficient water to knead the dough
oil for deep frying
salt to taste
