White Pumpkin Morkuzhambu

Method
  1. Wash and soak red gram dal, bengal gram dal and rice in water for 1 hour.
  2. Grind it to paste. Grind coconut, cumin seeds and green chillies to a paste.
  3. Make ginger paste, wash and cut white pumpkin into small cubes.
  4. Keep other ingredients ready. Make yoghurt.
  5. Heat oil in a pan/kadai, add asafoetida, cumin seeds, ginger, black gram dal, curry leaves and then add the dal paste and add little turmeric powder and salt.
  6. Now add ground coconut paste.
  7. Keep stirring. Finally add yoghurt.
  8. After adding yoghurt it should not be allowed to boil for more than 5 minutes.
  9. Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Delicious morkuzhambu is ready to be served.
  11. It can be served along with white rice.

Ingredients:
a small quantity of ash guord/white pumpkin
1 cup - curd/yoghurt
1 tbsp - black gram dal
1 tbsp - bengal gram dal
1 tbsp - red gram dal
1 tbsp - rice
1 tsp - mustard seeds
1 tsp - cumin seeds
curry leaves, small quantity
grated/shredded coconut, small quantity
ginger, a small piece
turmeric powder, a pinch
asafoetida, a pinch
2 - green chilli
coriander leaves, a small quantity
oil for frying
salt to taste
