2 cups - rice (soaked in water for 1/2 hour)
1/2 cup - mangodi (moong dal vadis)
2 to 3 - onions finely chopped
1 - bay leaf and whole masala
2 to 3 sticks - cinnamon
2 to 3 - cardamoms
2 to 3 - cloves
2 to 3 tbsp - ghee
5 cups - water
oil for frying
salt to taste
