Mango Kuzhambu

Method
  1. Fry red chilli, urad dal, rice and pepper.
  2. Boil mango pieces and tamarind in little water till soft.
  3. When cool grind it along with the fried things to a smooth paste.
  4. Boil the grinded paste adding little water, add salt.
  5. When thick, remove from fire.
  6. In a pan add little oil, add mustard seeds when it spluttering, add jeera.
  7. Pour it over the Kuzhambu.
  8. Garnish it with curry leaves.

Note:

  • This dish goes well with paruppu thogaiyal.
  • Fry tur dal, red chilli, little coconut and asafetida and grind.
  • During Summer when raw mango is available, Raw Mango pieces is to be cut and dried in sun and can be stored for years.
Ingredients:
dried raw mango pieces - 7 to 8
tamarind - lemon size
red chilli - 3
urad dal - 1 tsp
rice - 1 tsp
pepper - 1/2 tsp
mustard seeds - ½ tsp
jeera - ½ tsp
