Method

  1. Soak the chenna and moong daal in water for an hour; grind them along with the red chillies into a nice paste.

  2. Add salt to this paste.
  3. Fine chop the onion and green chillies.

  4. Boil the cooking oil in a pan.

  5. Fry urad daal till it turns golden brown.

  6. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and fry for a few more seconds.

  7. Add the onion and green chilli chops and khaddi pattha leaves to this.

  8. When the onions turn golden brown, add the chenna + moong daal paste to this mix, and fry on a low heat for about 15 minutes, till the paste becomes dry.

Ingredients:
1 cup Chenna daal
1 cup Moong daal
4 Red Chillies
2 Green Chillies
1 Onion
1/2 table spoon Urad daal
1/4 tea spoon Mustard seeds
1/4 tea spoon Cumin seeds
3 table spoons cooking Oil
few Khaddi Pattha leaves
Salt to taste
