1 cup - channa dal
1 cup - thinly sliced onions
1 tbsp - finely chopped fenugreek leaves or dill leaves
1" piece - cinnamon stick
2 to 3 nos - cardamoms
2 nos - cloves
1 nos - bay leaf
1 tsp - cumin seeds
½ tsp - turmeric powder
½ tsp - pepper powder
1 tsp - lemon juice
½ tsp - sugar
2 tbs - ghee
salt to taste
