Kaandya Tamatya Chi Koshimbir (Onion Tomato Salad)

  1. Chop well-washed tomatoes into � inch cubes or smaller as long as they do not get mushy.
  2. Chop onions very fine. Chop chillies lengthwise but finely.
  3. Place all in a mixing bowl. Spoon spices over them. Toss just before serving.
  4. To prevent an excessive onion odor, add fresh onion just before tossing.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander and coconut.
4 - large tomatoes
1 - large onion
1 or more - green chillies to taste
� tsp - cumin seed powder
a pinch - sugar
salt to taste
a few sprigs - coriander, finely chopped
2 tbsp - fresh or dry grated coconut (optional)
