Method
  1. Prepare a paste of coconut, garlic and cumin seeds and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in pan.
  3. Prepare a tadka of mustard and cumin seeds, curry leaves, slit green chillies, garlic and ginger.
  4. Now add the coconut paste to the pan along with turmeric powder and salt.
  5. Saute for 5 minutes till the tadka turns red.
  6. Add pre-boiled dal and water and wait for one boil.
  7. Garnish with coriander and serve with rice.
Ingredients:
For Tadka:
4 or 5 tsp - groundnut oil
½ tsp - mustard seeds
½ tsp - cumin seeds
5 or 6 - curry leaves
2 or 3 slit - green chillies
3 piece - chopped garlic
1 small piece - ginger

For the Paste:
½ - grated coconut
3 or 4 piece - garlic
½ tsp - cumin seeds
¼ tsp - turmeric powder
½ cup - water
½ tsp - coriander leaves
toor / ahrar dal
salt to taste
