Method- Soak rice for 1 hour.
- Mix the sugar with 3 tbsp. water and cook on low fire till it is a rich brown in colour.
- Add two cups of water to it.
- Remove from fire.
- Heat oil and fry the onions till golden in colour. Add the rice.
- Fry for a while.
- Add the brown sugar water, all the whole masalas, and salt.
- Cover and cook on a very low fire till soft.

2 white cardamoms

1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds

Salt to taste
