Brown rice with onion

Method
  1. Soak rice for 1 hour.
  2. Mix the sugar with 3 tbsp. water and cook on low fire till it is a rich brown in colour.
  3. Add two cups of water to it.
  4. Remove from fire.
  5. Heat oil and fry the onions till golden in colour. Add the rice.
  6. Fry for a while.
  7. Add the brown sugar water, all the whole masalas, and salt.
  8. Cover and cook on a very low fire till soft.
Ingredients:
1 cup rice
2 small onions, sliced finely
1 big piece cinnamon
2 bay leaves
2 cloves
2 white cardamoms
2 peppercorns
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
Oil
Salt to taste
