Ghaat (Maize Porridge)

Method
  1. Wash maize germ well.

  2. Add water and salt.

  3. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously, to avoid forming lumps.

  4. Cover loosely and cook on very low flame.

  5. Stir frequently and add more water if required.

  6. Takes about 25-30 minutes to cook well.

  7. Take off fire, add ghee, stir well well and serve with curds or hot milk and sugar.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup maize germ
2 cups water
salt to taste
1 tsp. ghee
