Mushrooms in Spicy Yoghurt Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds, saute for a min.
  2. Add the chopped onions and fry them until they turn soft, add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few seconds.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes along with the spice powders and mix well.
  4. Allow it to cook until the oil separates and keep stirring frequently.
  5. Add the chopped mushrooms and cook for 4 mins in medium flame.
  6. When the mushrooms are half cooked stir in the yoghurt along with salt, and cover with a tight fitting lid.
  7. Let the mushrooms get cooked in the steam for about 8 - 10 mins.
  8. Remove from heat and finally garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. Mushrooms in spicy yoghurt sauce is ready to be served with roti.
2 cups chopped button mushrooms
1 medium sized onion
2 medium sized tomatoes
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp yoghurt
1 tsp cumin seeds
A handful of fresh coriander leaves (for garnishing)
