Method
  1. Choose ripe but not too ripe velakkaya.
  2. Break open and scoop out the inside; keep aside in a bowl.
  3. Take 5 to 6 green chillies wash them.
  4. Clean a one inch long ginger piece. Grind the two together with salt and turmeric.
  5. Put in the velakkaya gujju, coriander leaves and some curd (about 3 tsp) and grind again but very briefly.
  6. Remove to a bowl.
  7. Prepare seasoning with urad dal, mustard seeds, asafoetida, cumin and curry leaves and add to the chutney.

1 - velakkaya (wood apple)
5-6 - green chillies
Ginger, 1 inch long piece
2 to 3 tsp - curd
Coriander, curry leaves
For seasoning - urad dal, chana dal, mustard, cumin, asafoetida
