Method
- Wash and soak the rice and dal separatelt for about 6 hour.
- Drain and grind rice coarsely and the dal till it is light and frothy.
- Mix together dal, rice, soda and little water, salt and set aside whole night.
- Steam and serve with sambhar poured over the top.

1 cup - urad dal
2 cups - rice
salt according to taste
a pinch of soda
