Method
  1. Dry grind poha (aval) coarsely to rawa like consistency
  2. Wash well with water and drain
  3. Sprinkle turmeric powder
  4. Place on a muslin cloth and steam for 20 mins.
  5. Remove and cool on a plate
  6. Heat jaggery with one cup water and boil to make a thick syrup
  7. Add grated coconut and cardamom powder to syrup
  8. Pour the syrup little by little onto the steamed poha
  9. Mix well with a light hand
  10. Fry the cashew pieces in ghee and add to the poha
  11. Delicious soft puttu is ready
  12. Serve on a plate or pack in small self sealing covers and distribute as prasad along with sundal for navratri
  13. This is a special dish offered to Devi for Navratri
Ingredients:
1 kg - poha (thick)
850g - jaggery
1 - coconut
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
2 tsp - cardamom powder
2 tbsp - ghee
100g - cashew nuts
