Red chilli chutney

  1. Grind coarsely red chillies and garlic, add tomato paste and red chilli powder to this along with 1/4 cup water.
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a wok, add this paste and cook.
  3. Add salt, when it comes to a boil, simmer and cook covered on a slow fire for 5 min or till the oil separates from the gravy.
  4. Switch off the stove and add 2 tsp of oil.
  5. Leave covered for 3 more min.
  6. Delicious, tangy chutney is ready.
  7. You can have this with cooked rice or veg fried rice or ghee rice.
5-6 red chillies
6 cloves of garlic
2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp tomato paste/puree
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp oil
1/4 cup water
