Method
  1. Pressure cook tur dal, drumstick or any other veggie, tomato, turmeric powder with sufficient water.
  2. Soak tamarind in water.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai.
  4. Add mustard seeds, once it splutters, add fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, pearl onions & curry leaves.
  5. Add the pressure cooked drumsticks, salt and mix well.
  6. Add sambar powder, tamarind water and mix again.
  7. Once it boils, add cooked and mashed tur dal and tomato.
  8. Finally add cilantro and serve with hot rice.
Ingredients:
1 cup - tur dal
1 - drumstick (any veggies)
6 - pearl onions
Tamarind, small lemon size
1 - tomato
2 - green chillies
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
2 tsp - sambar powder
Salt as per taste
2 tsp - oil
1/2 tsp - mustard seeds
1/2 tsp - fenugreek seeds
Pinch of asafoetida
Sprig of curry leaves
Cilantro
